Similar to many adults, I found myself sounding more and more ‘the grouchy-old man’ yelling at the news. A wise person once taught me, ‘if something truly bothers you, stop complaining and do your best to improve it.’
The idea of Cadre Kids was born one day as I tried to imagine the level of crazy teenagers must be experiencing in today’s society coupled with my love of crime thriller novels.
Timing aligned when my career called for more spontaneous travel at the same time one of my dog’s health issues worsened. I decided to chance a well-paying career I enjoyed in hopes to influence a younger generation through fun-fictional writing.

Cadre Kids-Larceny, book one of the series, details the clashes of the everyday lives of main characters, Jake, his fraternal sister—Rosa, and older brother—Ted, with our soon to become antagonist Hunter.
The series encourages children to make the right choices no matter how hard and emphasizes how even small compromises that seem inconsequential can have massive ramifications in time.
Book one, Larceny, embraces current-day divisiveness and the family’s struggle to remain grounded. To prepare for the inevitable—public high school/prison. The children embrace ghost stories for juvenile fun, and Jiu Jitsu for confidence building.
As a first time author, I got carried away writing this Young Adult crime thriller. In doing so, I discovered print costs prevented me from releasing one large book. I elected to release book one that ends on the children’s entrance into public high school.
Yes, I love these characters and am planning a full Cadre Kids series. Fun fact, all but the bad guy characters are named after dogs I owned or know.”
